This aquatint engraving after Richard Westall's painting is entitled 'A Girl Returning from Milking' is similar to the oild painting at Attingham Park originally owned by Lord Berwick. It could be from RW's painting entitled 'A Girl Returning from the Well' (RA 1799 no313) a possible companion to his 'Girl Going to Fetch Water' (RA 1796 no 92)owned in 1814 by the Earl of Oxford. It was described in a contemporary review as comparab;e to Gainsborough's 'Girl and Pigs'.
